Our Culture & History

The unique culture of North Raleigh, with thousands of businesses situated in northern Wake county, has its own specific economic and business challenges.

The North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce was created in 2018 by business leaders in the North Raleigh community with a mission of allowing a platform for networking, education, and for thousands of businesses to speak with the combined power of one voice.

The North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce keeps North Raleigh connected, supported, and strong.

Natanya Chadwick

Natanya is an Area Manager at Pinnacle Financial Partners. Through her role she gets the opportunity to support and inspire a diverse team of seasoned experts who are focusing on our community through financial well-being. Pinnacle has four full-service bank office locations serving our North Raleigh community and ten locations across the Triangle. You can usually find her advocating for collaboration over competition – Especially when it comes to our local Pinnacle workplace environment, when we are supporting entrepreneurs, supporting small business owners, and when providing financial education. Natanya serves on the leadership council with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Jessica Cunningham

Jessica wears multiple hats in her roles as an independent insurance broker, Wellness Advocate with doTERRA, and Owner of Essential Treats. She’s passionate about educating and empowering individuals to live better and more confidently through proper planning and holistic solutions. Jessica serves on the CORE team with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Jack Dinno

Jack is a commercial banker currently serving both the Central and Eastern North Carolina regions with Pinnacle Bank. He has 31 years of experience in the financial services industry as a commercial banker. Jack earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Eastern Michigan University and his master’s degree in business administration from Wayne State University in Detroit. Jack serves on the leadership council with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Manish Dubal

Manish is the owner of Image360 North Raleigh-Wake Forest, a local small business specializing in custom Signage, Graphics and Visual Displays. He is extremely passionate about providing excellence in product and service. He is a firm believer in cultivating relationships with the client and strives for every customer to become a customer for life. Manish serves on the leadership council with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Brian Edlin

Brian is a lawyer and partner with the Raleigh law firm of Jordan Price Wall Gray Jones & Carlton, PLLC where he practices construction and real estate law. He is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Campbell Law School in Raleigh, Texas A&M University School of Law and a Fellow in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the College of Community Association Lawyers. Brian serves on the leadership council with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

David Ford

David is a North Carolina native and moved to Raleigh in 2004 where he started his legal career. He has served on several local boards and enjoys spending time with his family. As a founding member of NRCOC, David serves as Director for the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Scott Hurst

Scott is a Senior Vice President with Coldwell Banker Advantage in Raleigh NC focusing on sales and leasing of all aspects of Commercial Real Estate including Office, Land, Retail, Industrial and Investment Property. He has 32 years of experience within the real estate and land development industries. Scott spent 3 years on the Board of Directors of Triangle Association of Realtors, is a Certified Commercial Investment Member, is an Alumnus of the Leadership Raleigh program and is a past president of the San Diego Chapter of the California Land Surveyors Association. Scott was raised in northern Virginia and moved to San Diego in 1990 where he met his wife and had three children before moving to Raleigh in 2006. Scott serves on the board of the Rotary Club of North Raleigh and serves as a member of the board of directors for the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Charlie Kennedy

Charlie is CEO of Kennedy Office, headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina. Charlie has worked at Kennedy since 1992 after he graduated from Wake Forest University. As a Raleigh native, he has a passion for helping the city grow and serving his local community. Charlie enjoys spending time with his wife, Helen, and two children, Waverly and Hugh. Charlie serves on the leadership council with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

James Kilbourne

James is a partner in the law firm of Allen Stahl & Kilbourne, with offices in Asheville, Raleigh, and Winston-Salem. He is a civil litigation attorney, working in complex litigation, community associations, creditors rights, appeals, and Indian Law. James has served as President of the Buncombe Bar, President of the Western District Federal Bar, and Chair of the NCBA Appellate Practice Section. Prior to re-entering private practice, James worked with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians for 7 years. James serves on the leadership council with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Ron Lancaster

Ron has been with Pinnacle Financial Partners located in Wakefield since 2022. He has been a banker in the Raleigh and Wake Forest market for over 38 years and held many positions in the retail and small business areas with larger regional banks. Ron has served on boards during this time at Junior Achievement, the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce and the Kerr Family YMCA. Ron enjoys his family with his wife, Daphne. They have 5 children, 3 grandchildren and a westie named Beans. They have lived in Wake Forest for almost 20 years. Ron serves on the leadership council with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Tara Lau

Tara is a vice president and commercial banker at North State Bank, serving customers through its North Hills office. She collaborates with business owners and company leaders to create customized banking relationships that meet their deposit and lending needs. Tara serves on the CORE team with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Susan Martin

Susan is a certified public accountant and is a co-owner of Dreher Martin, CPAs, P.A. She serves as the Audit and Accounting partner and has worked in public accounting for 28 years. Dreher Martin provides business clients with services that range from monthly bookkeeping and tax preparation to audited financial statements. Susan is a member of the Wakefield Rotary Club and serves on several non-profit committees and boards which include the membership committee of Rotary District 7710, Girls Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines finance committee, and Kerr YMCA Advisory Board. Susan serves on the leadership council with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Chris McCabe

Chris is the Northern Area Superintendent for the Wake County Public School System. He started his career teaching at Pleasant Union Elementary School in 1993 and then went on to teach 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades during his time in the classroom. Chris served as assistant principal at Brentwood Elementary from 2001-02 before being named Principal at Smith Elementary. In 2007, he opened a new multi-track year-round school, North Forest Pines Elementary. Chris then served as principal at Heritage Middle School from 2012-2020. Chris strives to make connections between local businesses and the WCPSS schools and students. Chris serves on the leadership council with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Reyna Michelle

Reyna is a commercial real estate sector and the owner of Reyna Michelle Realty. With a passion for transforming challenges into opportunities, Reyna Michelle Realty specializes in guiding clients through the complexities of commercial real estate transactions, ensuring a smooth and successful journey from start to finish. Reyna serves on the CORE team with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

John Norwood

John is the North Raleigh Market President for North State Bank, leading a team of commercial and treasury management bankers. He has worked in the financial services industry since 1992 with prior experience in commercial investment real estate banking and middle market banking at Bank of America. John earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and French from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a founding member of NRCOC, John serves as a member of the board of directors and as the treasurer for the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Paul Odland

Paul is a State Farm agent in Raleigh, North Carolina and has been with State Farm since 1994. He leads a team of licensed professionals to help customers with insurance and retirement planning needs. Paul is a graduate of the Duke Fuqua School of Business earning his MBA. He is also a Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, and Chartered Life Underwriter. Paul serves on the leadership council with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Derrick Thompson

Derrick is the visionary behind T&T Creative Group, a dynamic digital media growth agency dedicated to solving companies’ visibility challenges. With a strategic focus on crafting growth-driven websites, impactful video campaigns, and effective search engine optimization strategies, T&T empowers businesses to thrive in the digital landscape. Derrick’s leadership extends to serving as the former board chair of Haven House Services and the communications director of the Raleigh ISSA. In his leisure time, Derrick cherishes quiet dinners with his wife and co-hosts a weekly sports show, “Pick’em Pros,” alongside his 14-year-old son, Diego. Derrick serves on the leadership council with the North Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.
